To combat an aggressive intrusion of a new end-time doctrine, Dr. Goodspeed wrote this masterly treatise, rare for its exegetical precision and the beauty of direct biblical interpretation of the words of Scripture. A fine example of the pristine postmillennialism of the Great Awakening period, this treasure of biblical eschatology from a better day, preserved by God’s providence through a hundred-year eclipse, awaiting a people receptive to God’s optimistic purpose for the redemption of this earth in this age, through the agency of His church! Re-typeset and reprinted from the 1900 edition.
